Korean from LA and NYC here. Bay Area Korean is probably one of the worst in the nation. But this place is on point. Funny that u don't order their soup but I get their cold noodles (wow. Amazingly good) and their Bossam. Also amazingly good. Try it. It's addictive.

Such a hidden gem located in Berkeley. We had an outbound to east Bay last weekend, and we were craving for authentic Korean food. I was searching for a delicious Korean food while we were in Berkeley and I found this mom and pop shop. So we give it a try. Turned out all the food was so amazing. We tried their new menu, Korean cold noodle soup and it was so refreshing and perfect for summer days. We saw a poster in front of the store that they have the most crispy Korean seafood pancakes, so we gave it a try, it was loaded with seafood and was crispy too. We were recommended to try their Ikura bibimbap since they were the only one who carried the dish so we also ordered that. It was delicious indeed. And it was something that we never tried before. We would definitely try again. I love their galbi soup a.k.a. Meat soup it was full with meat, and also the cabbage makes it so refreshing. The burnt rice was perfect to eat it with the soup. My husband loves their tofu soup. It was such a perfect dish since he was having his sinus on that day. Overall, we will come back to this place to their other delicious menu such as fried chicken or just a simple Galbi.

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and was seated immediately. We ordered the AI-Bibimbap, Bibimbap V+, and BBQ Spicy Pork, and all the dishes were so yummy. AI-Bibimbap (10/10): This dish was the perfect combination of seafood and veggie flavors. I usually opt for bulgogi in my bibimbap, but this was such a great change. Bibimbap V+ (8/10): This bibimbap was a pretty typical beef bibimbap. Yummy, but not as good as the AI-Bibimbap. BBQ Spicy Pork (8/10): This dish was super yummy and sweet. My only criticism is that it was a bit oily.

I visited Pyeong Chang Tofu with a group of seven friends for an early Sunday dinner (~5:30 PM), and we were seated right away. We ordered enough food for a feast: the kimchi pancake, seafood tofu soup, kimchi bibimbap, short rib beef stew, Korean steam pork, and yang nyum chicken wings. This turned out to be more than plenty - some dishes could serve 10 people (the stew and steamed pork, for example) but others were better suited to a smaller group (bibimpab). We were able to try a little of each dish for a well-rounded meal, and I also enjoyed grazing on the banchan. Our food was brought out quickly and served piping hot (in some cases, boiling!). My favorite dish was the kimchi pancake, but the soups and stews really hit the spot on a cold, Berkeley day.
